Last day for Christmas Markets in Bucharest

Up until December 27, Bucharest Christmas Market is opened for residents of the capital as well as tourists can enjoy traditional dishes, artisanal products, and art programmes. In addition, you will find Christmas decorations, handmade products (accessories and jewellery), as well as natural care products such as cosmetics or lavender-based products.

Furthermore, The West Side Christmas Market includes an ice rink, a colourful carousel, a 33-metre-high Ferris wheel, and Santa Claus’s Cottage, where kids can send letters and have fun with the elves. The market closes on December 27.

The great painters immersive experience: Salvador Dali, Gustave Klimt and Pablo Picasso

This season, a series of great exhibitions are taking place in Bucharest: recently launched Salvador Dali exhibition at ARCUB, immersive experience at MINA Museum for Gustave Klimt and Pablo Picasso 50th celebration at MARE Museum.

Up until May 12, 2024, ARCUB presents the most extensive exhibition of original works by the famous artist Salvador Dalí in Bucharest. The exhibition-event “The Universe of Salvador Dalí” is organized by the City Hall of Bucharest, through ARCUB – the Cultural Center of Bucharest Municipality, in partnership with HADRAN Events, and presents 170 works – sculptures, graphics, engravings, lithographs, miniatures in gold, rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and glass, as well as surrealistic furniture illustrating the genius of the extravagant Salvador Dalí. Gustav Klimt – The Immersive Show –  is a multimedia production featuring over 60 works from the renowned artist’s entire career, pieces displayed in museums worldwide. The selection of artworks forms a chronological journey through the artist’s various periods, offering a contemporary reinterpretation with animations that create an immersive audiovisual spectacle. Among them are “The Lady with the Fan,” one of the most valuable paintings sold at an auction in Europe, “The Kiss,” his most famous work and considered a national treasure of Austria, and “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer,” known as the “Woman in Gold,” the most representative piece from Gustav Klimt’s Golden Period.

It is not only an art exhibition but also an immersive journey through Klimt’s masterpieces, with each piece meticulously animated and displayed in 360 degrees within a 7-meter-high space. This production is crafted by Romanian artists, the Aural Eye studio, and the musical producer Alexei Ţurcan. Details here.

Up until January 8, 2024, MARe/Contemporary Art Museum in Bucharest presents 46 works (paintings, drawings, engravings) signed by Picasso, and 57 works (paintings, sculptures, ceramics, graffiti) signed by 32 contemporary Romanian artists influenced by the work of the most important figure in modern art. “The Picasso Effect” is one of the most impressive exhibitions in Eastern Europe and certainly the most important in Romania, which is among the eight participating countries in the Picasso Celebration program: 1973-2023. Music for the soul

On December 28th at the Palace Hall in Bucharest, soprano Irina Baianț – known from Phantom of the Opera musical (the Romanian version) will enchant the audience with her concert “Illuminarium: Bridge Of Time.” The concept promises a journey through an artistic space, exploring the world of emotions, enthusiasm, and revelation through the language of light and sound vibrations.

Tickets for the concert range from VIP at 315 lei to Category C at 175 lei, with an optional Meet & Greet supplement priced at 300 lei (valid only with an access ticket, scheduled after the concert).

As the year comes to a close, Irina Baianț shares a narrative of faith, courage, and liberation. The performance spans from the nobility of classical music themes to immortal renditions of well-known musicals and film soundtracks. On December 30, 2023, the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, led by guest conductor Omar El Jamali, will present the 11th edition of the New Year’s Traditional Concert, “Classic Vibes,” at the Palace Hall.
