Romanian online retailer eMAG.ro sold 420,000 products worth 145 million lei (EUR32.65 million) by 18:00 hours via Black Friday sales campaign, the retailer announced Friday.
“We sold 44 cars, with a total worth of EUR 1.1 million. We’ve also scored our biggest online sale ever in this category – a BMW 6, going for EUR 66,500, with a EUR 20,000 discount compared to the listed price”, according to a press release from eMag.
The online retailer also sold 4,000 gasoline tickets with a 10 percent discount compared to the price used at the pump. With 6 hours to go before the end of Black Friday, eMag also sold 30,000 mobile phones, 20,000 tablets, 12,000 television sets, 4,000 perfumes, 4,000 car tires, 8,000 toys and 52 tonnes of pet food.
The website registered 1,1 million visits from the mobile phone with 15 percent of orders coming through this medium.
A Millward Brown study showed that 4.75 million Romanians expressed their intent to purchase items on Black Friday, 1.3 million more compared to last year, with the most sought-after products being small appliances, television sets and mobile phones.
