eMag and Mega Image team up to launch online supermarket

Online retailer eMag and supermarket operator Mega Image have reached an agreement to launch an online store selling grocery products, the two companies have announced today.

The platform called Supermarket la tine acasa (Supermarket at Home) is available starting August 26 in beta version at the link www.emag.ro/supermarket or directly from the start page of the eMag website, in the Supermarket section. The new online supermarket is open around the clock and the orders can be placed in any part of the country.

The product portfolio includes over 7,500 products, covering 170 ranges.

According to Violeta Luca, VP and executive director at eMag, the supermarket is one of the key categories announced this year by eMag, as part of the company’s development plan. “This is an important step that brings us closer to attaining our main target- turning eMag into an online store where our customer can buy anything, anytime,” said Luca.

The customers will benefit from flexible delivery anywhere in the country or they can also pick up the ordered products personally. The home delivery is made within 24 hours and customers can choose at what time of day they will receive their products.

To pick up their products personally, they can do that during the time the Mega Image stores are open. The list of dedicated delivery points in Bucharest and Ilfov, which includes the Mega Drive in Prelungirea Ghencea and other 39 stores, can be seen at this link.

The orders placed from an account can be delivered to various addresses, so a single person can make the online supplies for several families from the same town or anywhere in the country.

Mega Image has set up a special warehouse in Bucharest, where the products ordered online can be carefully selected and prepared for delivery.

The payment can be made online by card or upon delivery. In case of picking up the orders from the Mega Image stores, customers can only pay online for these products.
