Romanian sellers on eMAG marketplace have exported millions of products

The 5,000 Romanian entrepreneurs active in the cross-border eMAG Marketplace program have exported over 5 million products to Hungary and 3.3 million to Bulgaria in the first half of this year. Half of them are present in all three countries in the region – Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria.

The rapid expansion of product offerings in the two countries has been accelerated by the recently launched Fulfillment by eMAG (FBE) cross-border program, through which sellers can deliver products directly from the warehouse in Romania to Hungary and Bulgaria at the same costs. Within just one month of the launch, a quarter of the sellers enrolled in the program expanded to both Hungary and Bulgaria and entered these two countries.

Romanian cross-border sellers predominantly sell products in the categories of electronics, IT, home and decor, DIY products, consumables, toys, automotive, fashion, and sports. In Hungary, as in Romania, over 50% of the products exported by sellers are ordered for delivery to Easybox locations.

“Our cross-border program can quickly open a new market for any Romanian seller on the Marketplace, and with FBE cross-border, they have a solution to export their products more advantageously than with any individual international warehousing and inventory management solution. A Romanian entrepreneur who wants to expand in the region should invest in at least nine types of additional operations to their current business to be able to sell at a regional level, from costs related to inventory management technology and courier solutions to those related to currency risks, translations, or human resources required for sales in other countries. Now, all these operations are managed through our cross-border solution. The fact that a quarter of the sellers who were using FBE locally listed their products in Hungary and Bulgaria within the first month of international cross-border expansion shows that the solution is useful, and its benefits are clear for entrepreneurs in the Marketplace,” said Stejara Pircan, Senior VP eMAG.

The products listed by Romanian sellers on eMAG Hungary and Bulgaria benefit from translation into the two languages without additional costs, as well as automatic conversion of prices into local currencies. Moreover, inventory management for all the countries they are active in is easily handled through automatic synchronization.

Through FBE cross-border, eMAG takes care of all the logistics, from reception, warehousing, picking, packaging, delivery, customer relations, to returns.
