Over 2.8 million products in eMAG's biggest Black Friday offer on November 10, 2023

For one out of three Romanians, Black Friday is the only day of the year when they can buy a product that they have been waiting for all year, according to a Kantar study commissioned by eMag. On November 10, Black Friday, eMAG comes with over 2.8 million offers suitable for all needs. The offer built together with thousands of merchants selling on the eMAG platform is the result of more than 10 months of negotiations with suppliers.

For the 13th edition of Black Friday, the day with the most discounts of the year, the value of the discounts that eMAG has prepared amounts to over 390 million lei, at the lowest price in the last 30 days, and 71% of offers are at the best price since 2023.

This year, Black Friday consumer purchase intent stands at 57%, up from last year. The product categories they intend to buy are televisions (37%), small household appliances (37%), clothes (27%), mobile phones (24%) or refrigerators (22%), according to a Kantar Romania study, and the eMAG offer takes their wishes into account. The budget that consumers planned for Black Friday also increased from year to year, rising, on average, to 2,855 lei, 11% more than in 2022, according to the same study.

For this year’s edition, eMAG estimates sales of 680 million lei, an increase of 36 million lei compared to last year.

This makes Black Friday benefit from a growing interest, we see this both at the level of purchase intention and at the level of the budget that Romanians plan to allocate. We come with over 2.8 million offers from all categories, with 71% of the offer at the best price of the year. Black Friday is the day when online commerce shows its strength and brings more people online who enjoy the very good prices and offers”, said Tudor Manea, CEO of Grup eMAG.

The impact of investments in recent years

Investments in warehouses and technology in recent years mean that today eMAG organizes the largest shopping event in the region. The team in the logistics hub in Joita, supported by the latest generation robots and logistics technology in which eMAG has made an investment of over 43 million euros, has the capacity to process 20% more orders this year compared to 2022. At the same time, investments in warehouse processing technology allow the amount of packaging to be reduced by 10%. Thanks to these investments, the Fulfillment by eMAG program used by more than 2,500 Romanian sellers allows the delivery of more than 3.5 million products from eMAG warehouses, three times more than in 2022. And for sellers participating in Black Friday it is an expected moment, since on this day they end up selling as much as in a month.

Black Friday orders ship by November 24th

Also, with the help of the easybox infrastructure developed by Sameday, which has reached more than 3,900 units, and courier companies, eMAG is ready to ensure the delivery of all orders by November 24.

Flexible payment solutions

This year, more than 2 million eligible customers, twice as much as last year, have flexible payment solutions at their disposal and can pay in four installments through the eMAG/My Wallet account, without interest and without commission, for the products they purchase on the day of Black Friday. Also, all eMAG customers have financing solutions available with up to 48 interest-free installments through bank cards.

Free subscription to unlimited deliveries in four apps

On Black Friday, to give customers the opportunity to enjoy offers without worrying about the cost of transport, eMAG offers four vouchers worth 25 lei in the four ecommerce applications, eMAG, Tazz, Fashion Days and Freshful to those who purchase a Genius subscription, and the offer is also valid for customers who wish to renew their subscription. Thus the cost of the subscription for a year is zero.
