FAN Courier announces the acquisition of an additional 1.000 FANbox lockers, thereby expanding the network to 2.000 units nationwide. The decision to increase the number of units comes in response to customers’ openness to this delivery method and the high number of requests received from customers and partners for locker installations in all cities across the country.

FAN Courier launched its investment in the FANbox locker network in October 2022, with the project initially estimated at 10 million euros and planned for development in stages. Due to the rapid success observed since the launch, the company has decided to expand the network and install an additional 1.000 units. Lockers offer several advantages for both the company and end customers.

“In our 25 years of operation, we have always been attentive to customers and their needs, which is why many of the solutions implemented by FAN Courier have been a response to these needs. The rapid success of the lockers installed in the first months of the investment has prompted us to continue the installation pace nationwide. We are confident that lockers represent an efficient solution for all parties involved – retailers, couriers, and recipients. Through the locker network, we increase the independence on the customer’s end, who is no longer required to be at the address to receive the parcel. We enhance the productivity of our couriers and contribute to environmental protection – a courier can deliver a higher number of shipments and handle returns from the same unit, making only one trip with the vehicle,” said Adrian Mihai, CEO of FAN Courier.

The company maintains its strategy of placing FANbox lockers nationwide. These lockers will be installed in both major cities and smaller ones, ensuring the service is available to as many people as possible.

The lockers are available for both parcel pick-up and drop-off, catering to customers who seek greater flexibility and efficiency in organizing their time. They can find lockers near their residences, workplaces, shopping areas, or where they refuel their vehicles, among other locations. Moreover, they benefit from lower delivery fees compared to traditional door-to-door delivery.

In addition, the new FANbox lockers come with technological upgrades that improve equipment reliability and enhance the customer experience.

By using the FANbox delivery service, customers enjoy multiple advantages beyond the lower fee: they can make cash on delivery payments with their cards, drop off returns directly at the locker, and send shipments between individuals, all within a 24/7 operating schedule. Individuals can complete the electronic waybill (AWB) without the need to print and attach it to the parcel. FANbox lockers allow the receipt and dispatch of packages and envelopes weighing a maximum of 30 kg.

To enable shipments to be delivered through the FANbox locker network, a dedicated enrollment mechanism has been implemented for online stores. Consequently, a dedicated team from FAN Courier provides interested retailers with technical integration documentation and support throughout the integration process. After enrollment, customers of online stores can select FANbox delivery for their ordered products, with a pickup deadline of 72 hours. Online stores that enter into a contract with FAN Courier for the locker system can integrate both the pickup and drop-off options, offering customers comprehensive benefits for the entire ordering process.
