The adoption of e-commerce for daily use products has been increasing among eMAG customers, who, in the first half of this year, ordered an average of 22% more products from this category. As a result, they spent an average of 259 lei per month on products such as home care items, cosmetics, toys, clothing, footwear, books, coffee, or tea, compared to the same period last year.

When it comes to the preferred delivery method, in the first half of the year, customers opted for the flexibility and predictability offered by delivery to nearby easy box lockers. On average, 63% of regular purchases are delivered to one of the over 3,800 easy box lockers across the country.

“The ease of finding a good price through the Superpreț label or promotional campaigns, as well as free delivery and exclusive offers for Genius customers, have stimulated the frequency of purchases in categories of products that are used regularly, from home care products to personal care, pet products, coffee, or tea. People are looking for an increasingly diverse range of products, and the online world is a huge mall that makes this possible for every budget,” said Irina Pencea, General Manager of eMAG Romania.

Among the top categories of products that recorded order growth of over 20% in the first six months of this year compared to the previous year are home and garden care products, personal care products, toys, coffee and tea, and pet products. Additionally, customers ordered 10% more from categories such as beverages, clothing and footwear, as well as books.

In the first half of 2023, eMAG witnessed significant growth in various categories. Among them, the leading sectors that experienced remarkable expansion were home and household cleaning products, personal hygiene products, beauty products, toys, coffee and tea, pet shop items, beverages, footwear, and books. These thriving segments not only reflect changing consumer preferences but also demonstrate the evolving trends and demands in the online marketplace during this period.
