As the 13th edition of Business Review Awards Gala, BR magazine’s flagship event that recognizes the outstanding achievements of the business community, will take place on March 5, we want to put the spotlight on the 11 categories from which the independent jury will select the winners for their exceptional performance in 2017.
ENTER THE COMPETITIONThis year, Business Review decided to rebrand the Best Employment Initiative category as the Best Employer Initiative.
In 2017, the award went to retail chain Mega Image, which employs more than 10,000 people.
“Profiling is not a fancy project, it’s an assessment project. Impressive by its size, because we assess 240 people of our store managers, some of them having their education inside our organization. We have the mission of giving them the chance to become managers of the organization. We have a percent of 99.99 percent of people becoming store managers right from the shelves,” said Ileana Alexandru, VP HR department of Mega Image, during last year’s Gala.
Last year, Mega Image continued its expansion drive, operating stores in 585 localities and focusing more on proximity units.
In the second half of 2017, Mega Image opened its first store in Cluj-Napoca and quickly expanded its presence in the city to three units by the end of the year.
