Huawei unveils P30 Pro and P30 smartphones with the most advanced cameras ever made by the company

Huawei, the second-largest smartphone maker in the world, unveils the P30 and P30 Pro smartphones, the latest flagship series based on the P-series DNA design and photography, with the most advanced camera developed by the company for a smartphone. Prices start at EUR 800 and go up to EUR 1,250.

The devices incorporate the innovative Huawei SuperSpectrum sensor, the Huawei SuperZoom lens, the new Time-of-Flight (TOF) camera and a much improved image stabilization. Thanks to these revolutionary technologies, theP30 and P30 Pro models can capture incredible photos and videos, no matter when they are made.

With a record-breaking DxOMark score of 112, both for photography and video, the P30 Pro is equipped with a new Leica four-camera system that includes a 40MP main camera with the SuperSpectrum sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide camera, an 8MP camera, a Time-of-Flight (TOF) camera, and a 32MP front camera that brings the selfies to a whole new level.

The SuperSpectrum sensor of 1 / 1.7 inches captures the light in a whole new way. The RYYB SuperSpectrum sensor moves away from the traditional Bayer RGGB filter, replacing the green pixels with yellow pixels, resulting in a maximum ISO of 409,600 for the P30 Pro and 204,800 for the P30. This fundamental change in sensor technology, combined with Huawei’s AIS and OIS, and the P30 Pro f / 1.6 aperture, guarantees extraordinary photographic and video experiences for a wide range of situations, including low illumination conditions, generating images with superior features in detail, color and clarity.

The SuperZoom Lens opens the way to a superior level of zoom photography. Thanks to its periscopic design, SuperZoom Lens supports up to 5 times high-fidelity optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom and 50X digital zoom. A prism in the telephoto camera reflects 90 degree angle light to maximize focal length while minimizing camera height without disrupting device design.

Artificial Intelligence from Huawei helps users put everything together to get the perfect picture. The HDR + Artificial Intelligence function allows cameras to combine multiple shots taken in rapid succession to eliminate overexposed images and backlight.

Redefines video capture

The P30 Series comes with a smartphone camera with cinematic capabilities. The P30 series unleashes a new era of professional, studio videography. The SuperSpectrum sensor allows spectacular video recording under low light conditions, so that night-time scenes appear bright and with a high level of detail. AIS and OIS from Huawei come with stabilization function for all video settings, which results in a perfect, steady shooting. At the same time, the SuperZoom lens makes clear foregrounds and the Artificial Intelligence video editor allows users to add background music and special effects to video capture, which makes the P30 Series transform into a mobile production studio.

The Dual-View Video feature can capture two perspectives of the same scene at the same time by simultaneously using multiple cameras. The P30 series provides a complete view of a scene, capturing a close-up, opening the way to new possibilities for making video recordings.

Design

Inspired by nature and technology, for stunning design and fascinating colors. The design of the P30 was created with a nano-optical finish, inspired by the unique color palette of the salt-covered fields. P30 Pro 6.47 inches and P30 6.1 inch are available in the colors: Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Aurora, Pearl White and Black. The FHD + (2340×1080) Dewdrop screen is provided with a small fringe that provides a maximum display area. The near-edge glass screen features a fingerprint sensor integrated into the screen for fast and secure authentication. The P30 Pro is also equipped with Acoustic Display Technology, which enables it to play high-quality audio recordings.

The P30 Series benefits from the Kirin 980 7nm processor that delivers ultimate performance, peak performance and faster image recognition with Dual-NPU processing capability supported by artificial intelligence.
The series is provided with an Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS) that improves system response speed. The latest EMUI 9.1 also supports Huawei Share OneHop for fast file transfer between Huawei smartphones and laptops.
The P30 Pro comes with a 4200mAh (typical value) battery and a 40W Huawei SuperCharge that charges the battery up to 70 percent in 30 minutes, holding the device for more than a day, under conditions intense use.
The P30 Pro is equipped with the SuperCool technology, designed to improve thermal performance, which keeps the phone cool even when it is used intensively.
The series features a range of wireless connectivity capabilities that support Dual SIM and Dual VoLTE connectivity.
