PlantExtrakt, the largest Romanian producer of gemotherapy extracts and the only local producer of homeopathic medicines, part of the Europlant group, announces the launch of VerdioGast, a natural product for digestion with triple action. On a market dedicated to digestion products worth approx. 30 million euros, VerdioGast is the herbal alternative to current consumption habits. Thus, the company expects that the new product will capture approx. 3% of the profile market value in the next 5 years.

“The launch of VerdioGast occurs in a context of a continuously growing market, where consumers are looking for products that offer clearly defined benefits, perfectly adapted to their current requirements. We estimate that our new product will capture, this year, a market share of approximately 1%, and in the next 5 years it will reach 3% of the total market. These projections are primarily based on the growing interest of the Romanian consumer for natural products”, emphasized Liviu Ungureanu, General Director of PlantExtrakt.

According to his statements, the relevant market for VerdioGast is that of digestion products, where most of the options are OTC (drugs that can be dispensed without medical prescription), but also food supplements or medical devices.

VerdioGast stands out for its triple action, for the proper functioning of the stomach, pancreas and liver. Thus, it supports the digestion of food, reduces the feeling of gastric fullness and contributes to the proper functioning of the liver and gall bladder. It is a product with 100% natural, herbal active ingredients, no pancreatin or bile of animal origin, no synthetic chemicals or genetically modified organisms. In addition, VerdioGast® is designed to be used by sensitive people.

“Indigestion, scientifically called functional dyspepsia, represents a significant problem for an impressive percentage of consumers, affecting up to 30% of them, globally. It is important to understand that indigestion is related to the functioning of the organs involved in digestion and therefore can recur again and again. It usually manifests as a feeling of being too full after a meal, accompanied or not by bloating. Affected people can experience unpleasant manifestations at any time of the day, correlated with their hygienic-dietary regime, or food. It is important to note that many sufferers turn to medications, dietary supplements, or teas to help manage their symptoms. However, it is rare for them to seek medical help strictly for these disorders. The launch of VerdioGast, the first natural digestive product, with triple action, comes to complete our portfolio and offer an efficient alternative with a good degree of safety, for these often encountered manifestations”, Liviu Ungureanu also affirmed.

The ideal consumers for VerdioGast are those who are looking for natural solutions. They can suffer digestive disorders caused by an unbalanced diet (eg: eating too much, on the run, or sweets and alcohol). Thus, VerdioGast is primarily aimed at women, between the ages of 30 and 55, from urban environments, concerned about their health and that of their families. It also focuses on urban adults between the ages of 30 and 60 with a medium to high socioeconomic status.

VerdioGast is already available in pharmacies and convenience stores, both brick-and-mortar and online, and is expected to enter more than 3,500 such locations by the end of the year.
