Lenovo launches, for the first time in Romania, the Legion Tab gaming tablet and the new generations of gaming equipment from the Legion ecosystem, designed for more performance and memorable gaming experiences.

“In 2017, at IFA, Lenovo launched the first Legion laptop. Since then, we have built on this base and every year we have launched new laptops to the line-up, and in the first quarter of 2024 we became the market leader in Romania in the gaming area. Over the years, we have introduced more and more categories under the Legion brand. At CES 2018 we launched the first Legion monitors, in 2019 we launched a full range of Legion accessories, and after a short pause due to the pandemic, we launched a gaming sub-brand, Lenovo LOQ. Last September, we launched the Legion GO console at IFA, and this month we’re launching the world’s first gaming tablet, the Legion Tab Y700. We now have a complete ecosystem, and I think we are the only manufacturer that can say it covers all product categories and all customer segments. We have gaming laptops, gaming desktops, gaming monitors, accessories, consoles and now gaming tablets. Romania was the first country in Europe to have access to the second-generation Legion Tab tablet, the first being launched exclusively in China. The tablet borrows design elements from the PC area, having elegant, sober finishes that do not leave the impression of a gaming device, but which explain the Legion motto «Stylish on the outside. Savage on the inside”, said Lucian Condruz, Consumer Sales Leader of Lenovo Romania.

Legion Tab, the ideal device for instant gaming, anytime, anywhere

Lenovo Legion Tab is an 8.8-inch Android tablet for the modern mobile gamer. The Lenovo Legion Tab transcends the typical expectations of a tablet, delivering outstanding gaming performance thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4nm processor and 12GB of LPDDR5X memory1 all in a 76mm thin Storm Grey tablet weighing in at just 350grams. The Lenovo Legion Tab allows for even more gaming on the go owing to its 256GB onboard storage—expandable with the microSD slot that supports up to 1TB cards.1 The 144Hz 8.8-inch QHD+ Lenovo PureSight gaming display brings visuals to vibrant life, allowing any Android compatible game to shine crisp and colorful. The tablet’s integrated haptic system gives gamers a further level of immersion and feedback so they can truly get in the game.

All this power is kept cool with the Legion ColdFront: Vapor thermal solution, featuring an oversized vapor chamber to keep things cool when the gaming gets hot. Legion ColdFront: Vapor offers three performance modes that allow users to tailor their tablet’s performance to their given scenario—Beast Mode when every frame counts; Balanced Mode that toes the line between performance, heat, and battery life; and Energy Saving mode which makes the most of the Lenovo Legion Tab’s 6550mAh battery for longer2, untethered gaming sessions. When it is time to charge, the bottom USB Type-C® port (in landscape orientation) features the Qualcomm Quick Charge™ 3.03 technology and up to 45W of charging as well as charging bypass when gaming to help keep temperatures in check and cables out of the way. The USB Type-C ports offer DisplayPort™ 1.4 support so gamers can connect to a compatible external display to game small, bigger.

The Lenovo Legion Tab fits right into the Lenovo Legion ecosystem, offering seamless integration with other Legion devices. Through Lenovo Freestyle4, gamers can effortlessly share content between the Lenovo Legion Tab and another Lenovo Legion Laptop, establishing a dynamic link that enhances the gaming experience across devices. The tablet is compatible with Lenovo Legion monitors, headsets, keyboards, and mice. The Lenovo Legion Tab and its ecosystem integration exemplify Lenovo’s commitment to providing a holistic gaming environment that prioritizes performance, convenience, and immersive gameplay.

Lenovo’s Premium Care Depot5 also provides essential support for gamers, offering help with device setup, internet connection fixes, software issues, and adding peripherals. This service ensures gamers have access to technical assistance when they need it most.

New generations of Legion gaming equipment, adapted to AI

Lenovo’s new gaming ecosystem debuted at CES® 2024, with Microsoft Windows 11-based PCs, peripherals, software, and services that deliver on power, thermals, graphics, AI-powered advantages, and the freedom to build the ultimate system to game and since April, the new generations of Legion gaming equipment are also present in Romania. The new PC portfolio includes the following new 9th generation Lenovo Legion 16-inch gaming laptops and towers:

  • The Lenovo Legion 7i (16”, 9), Lenovo Legion 5i (16”, 9), and Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (16”, 9) are for gamers who need a laptop that can handle their favorite games as well as their STEM apps.
  • The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) is for those who will settle for nothing less than the best in their gaming and content creation pursuits.
  • The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16”, 9) and Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (16”, 9) are for gamers who need the ultimate in FPS, style, and screen.
  • Legion Tower 7i and Legion Tower 5i are for those who need the extra horsepower of a top-tier gaming tower PC.

At the core of this new gaming lineup is the family of Lenovo’s proprietary hardware AI chips—called LA AI chips–and the advantages they bring to both Lenovo Legion and Lenovo LOQ gaming laptops. This year’s LA AI chips are mightier than ever, enabling Lenovo Legion and Lenovo LOQ laptops to achieve even higher FPS, increased power efficiency, and more.

The new Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) features the upgraded Lenovo LA3-P AI chip, which delivers Scenario Detection that dynamically adjusts power to the CPU and GPU to increase performance based on what the user is doing at any given moment. This is coupled with Smart FPS, which tracks power usage between hardware components and FPS output while gaming. It scans on-screen FPS data, then takes this data and runs it through an algorithm that optimizes CPU and GPU power that increases FPS in games. The Lenovo LA3-P AI chip also enables Lighting Audio Sync, which syncs the device’s RGB lights with the sound for a more immersive gaming experience.

There is also Legion Aurora Sync which uses AI to synchronize what is displayed on screen with the keyboard and environmental RGB, as well as Smart Control that allows gamers to quickly switch between preset power profiles including a user-settable Custom mode. Fan speed controls, thermal mode settings, and other AI capabilities are all controlled through Lenovo Vantage. The Lenovo Legion 9i (16”, 9) also features up to the newest Intel® Core™ Gen i9-14900HX CPU, coupled with an up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 GPU. It can deliver up to 230W TDP, intelligently managed by the newest LA3-P AI chip, has a 3.2K 16:10 165Hz VRR Mini-LED PureSight display, up to 64GB of 5600Mhz DDR5 memory, up to 2TB of Gen 4 PCIe storage1, and is powered by a 99.99Whr battery.

Lenovo’s LA AI chips are both present in Lenovo Legion series laptops. The Lenovo Legion 7i’s LA AI chip supports Scenario Detection, Smart FPS increases, and Smart Control, all accessible through Lenovo Vantage software so gamers can customize their laptop even further in the pursuit of optimum performance no matter the use case. The Lenovo Legion 5i supports Smart Control for on-the-fly power profile switching. Available in an array of shades, the Lenovo Legion series of laptops feature a stylish design that doesn’t outwardly scream ‘gaming laptop’ and belies the powerful hardware inside—up to the latest Intel Core i9 14900HX processors on the Lenovo Legion 7i (16”, 9) and Lenovo Legion 5i (16”, 9) and up to AMD Ryzen™ 8040 Series processors on the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (16”, 9). All Lenovo Legion series laptops are available with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics that feature NVIDIA’s RTX AI upscaling for faster framerates, AI-powered Max-Q technology to optimize performance and efficiency – supercharging gaming as well as creative and productive tasks. All Lenovo Legion series laptops come with up to 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, and up to 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. The all-new Copilot key is also now on every Lenovo Legion 7i keyboard.

New for this year is the Lenovo Legion “Coldfront: Hyper” thermal solution, available on the Lenovo Legion 7i and Lenovo Legion 5i. This is a completely new thermal solution that has fully reinvented the path that air takes through the chassis when cooling the laptop. Hot air from the chips is forced through a channel-like hyperbaric chamber in the center of the laptop. The bottom D-cover is designed to prevent hot air exhausting out the back vent from mixing with the cold air being pulled in by the dual fans, optimizing heat exchange and keeping the laptops’ hardware cooler and the framerates higher. This results in a max output of 175W in Extreme Mode on the thinner Lenovo Legion 7i, and up to 190W max TDP on the Lenovo Legion 5i, while keeping the keyboard cooler and more comfortable even under heavy processor loads. Lenovo Legion series laptops also feature PureSight displays, which are per-unit color calibrated.

For competitive gamers who will settle for nothing less than the ultimate edge in the arena, the Lenovo Legion Pro series answers the call, delivering this gaming portfolio’s highest performance and cutting-edge thermals to help with the win. This year’s Lenovo Legion Pro series laptops feature up to all new Intel Core 14th Gen i9-14900HX processors, up to 32GB 5600MHz DDR5 memory, up to 16” PureSight WQXGA 16:10 IPS display panels supporting up to 240Hz refresh rates with 500 nits brightness, and up to 2TB PCIe SSD storage.

The upgraded PureSight displays feature 100% DCI-P3 coverage. All Lenovo Legion Pro 7i (16”, 9) laptops this year feature Coldfront: Vapor chamber thermals regardless of the configuration, allowing the up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU to max out at a total of 250W TDP in Extreme Mode. The Coldfront thermals in Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (16”, 9) laptops let the up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs breathe with a max output of 215W TDP in Extreme Mode. The TrueStrike keyboards on the Lenovo Legion Pro series laptops come with four switchable keycaps and either per-key Legion Spectrum RGB lighting on the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i or optional 4-zone Spectrum RGB on the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i. The all-new Windows Copilot key is also now on every Lenovo Legion Pro 7i keyboard, so AI assistance is just a keystroke away, making it easier to control PC settings and assist with other tasks.

For gamers who need dedicated top-tier performance fully focused on the win, the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i is the monument to gaming greatness. With up to Intel Core i9 14900K processors, up to the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX Desktop GPUs, up to 64GB 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, up to 6TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage1, and up to a 1200W 90% PSU, this 34L behemoth—like its Pro series cousin—can push every pixel on a Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 display to the max with lightning-fast refresh rates built for victory in high fidelity. Coupled with the Lenovo Legion K300 Mechanical Keyboard and Lenovo Legion M600e Wireless Gaming Mouse, the Lenovo Legion Pro series and Lenovo Legion Tower 7i deliver the arsenal of tools to clinch the win.

For gamers who are looking for a desktop solution to their gaming, educational, and professional pursuits, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i can be configured with up to 14th Gen Intel Core i9-13900F processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070Ti GPUs, up to 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, up to an 850W 90% PSU, and up to 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage1. At 26L, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i distills a lot of power into a chassis that dominates the game, not the desk. Elevate the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i and Lenovo Legion Tower 7i with peripherals already available: the Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 Gaming Monitor, Lenovo Legion K310 RGB Gaming Keyboard, and Lenovo Legion M300s RGB Gaming Mouse, to truly unleash these beastly machines.

This year’s Lenovo LOQ lineup includes a plethora of CPU and GPU options including Intel and AMD Ryzen CPUs as well as both NVIDIA 20, 30, and 40 Series Laptop GPUs, and even a fully Intel-based option with Intel Arc™ A530M graphics. The new hyperchamber thermal technology also found on Intel-based Lenovo LOQ laptops keeps processors cooler, drawing out up to an additional 15W of power in Extreme Mode while keeping skin temperatures up to 2°C cooler, and lowering fan noise by up to 2dB compared to its last generation. Even more power is unlocked by the Lenovo LA1 AI chip present on all Lenovo LOQ laptops by powering Lenovo AI Engine+ through Lenovo Vantage to dynamically tune the laptop’s power, fan curves, and other settings on the fly to maximize performance according to the specific task at hand. All this technology allows the 15-inch Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 to put out a total of 160W max TDP in Extreme Mode, more than enough power to play most games, whether AAA titles or indie releases.
