Archos launches new line of smartphones with prices under EUR 150

ARCHOS, the pioneering French company in consumer electronics, confirms its concern for users’ “pockets” by reiterating a series of smart phones that deliver superior performance at low cost. The ARCHOS Oxygen 57, 63 and 68XL models are equipped with octa-core processors that include AI processing units, LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi connectivity options, 19: 9 screens in compact enclosures and are operated by Android 9 Pie. The three models will be available for purchase in May 2019, starting at a price of EUR 99.

In 2018, electronics consumers expressed their desire for innovation and diversity, generating a 4 percent decline in the global smartphone market. There are still a huge number of users who are not willing to spend all their salary a month to buy a smart phone but who want the right balance between essential features and additional options.

With the Oxygen series, ARCHOS meets the most important aspects of a smartphone, each model coming with a defining feature:

  • Large screen in an ultra-compact housing for ARCHOS Oxygen 57;
  • High processing capacity, at a price below 130 euros, for ARCHOS Oxygen 63;
  • XL comfort for ARCHOS Oxygen 68XL.

Robust performance at less than EUR 100 / EUR 150

ARCHOS Oxygen models are powered by octa-core processors with integrated AI processing units, supported by a 3/32GB or 4/64GB RAM/ROM, expandable via the micro SD card, to accelerate and make it even more efficient energy-intensive machine learning tasks. Immediate benefits include: faster fingerprint and voice detection, image recognition and processing, especially complex scenes and bokeh effects, improved voice command control and energy allocation, to optimize the duration of the life of the battery.

The ARCHOS Oxygen 57, 63 and 68XL models offer LTE category 7, VoLTE and VoWiFi connectivity. These capabilities, generally provided by expensive handsets, provide increased accessibility and quality, especially for HD calls, as well as low-to-late connection rates.

ARCHOS models are embedded in compact and stylish enclosures with very generous 5.7, 6.3 and 6.8 inch screens, respectively, at HD + resolution. These smartphones offer an excellent screen-to-image ratio and high image quality, featuring vibrant colors and large contrasts, as well as broad viewing angles for enjoying any multimedia content, from viewing pictures and videos, and to gaming.

Strong basic features

The ARCHOS Oxygen 57, 63 and 68XL models are capable of the latest version of the Google Android 9 Pie, with the new features, the most important of which are largely managed by AI: battery, brightness, state digital navigation system, gestures. Enhanced Bluetooth capability gives users the ability to connect up to five speakers simultaneously to any of the phones, allowing them to generate their own surround sound system. Autoloading ensures protection against theft or any attempt to unauthorized verification of the contents of your smartphone.

The ARCHOS Oxygen models have two main cameras on the back and a 5MP front camera.

It also incorporates batteries ranging from 2,800 to 5,000mAh, which guarantees the peace of mind of those who care about this.

The phones also feature a wide range of connectors, ports and sensors, such as a fingerprint scanner.

Presented at MWC 2019, the ARCHOS Oxygen 57, 63 and 68XL models will be available in the EMEA from May 2019 at EUR 99, ​​EUR 129 and EUR 149.
