Cosmopolis Has a New Carrefour Store Extended Space Carrefour Opens in Cosmopolis Plaza – Over 1,700 sqm

The Carrefour Market network in Romania has expanded to 192 units nationwide out of a total of approximately 450 multi-format stores; With an extended sales area, customers can find a suitable portfolio for residential areas with over 11,000 food and non-food products; The Carrefour Market format is distinguished by a series of specific benefits for customers: proximity and a large variety of products all in one place.

 

Carrefour Romania continues to invest in the Market format by opening a new supermarket in the Cosmopolis complex. The modernized store offers the local community a format tailored to their needs, combining proximity offers with those suitable for a residential area by opening a new Market store with an extended sales area. Thus, the retailer reaches 192 supermarkets nationwide out of a total of approximately 450 multi-format stores.

The Carrefour Market Cosmopolis Plaza supermarket now benefits from a commercial area of over 1,700 sqm where customers are welcomed with a wide range of over 11,000 food and non-food products. The shelves feature established ranges and assortments adapted to the lifestyle and shopping habits of local consumers.

On the occasion of this opening, we aim to offer even more shopping options close to home by relocating and expanding the sales area of the new store in Cosmopolis. Additionally, we focus on improving the shopping experience through investments in space organization and efficiency, the availability of e-commerce solutions, and optimizing energy consumption to offer customers a personalized and attractive shopping journey,” said Ramona Huștiu, Supermarket Business Unit Director Carrefour Romania.

More Varied, Fresher, Closer to Home

Located at the intersection between hypermarket and proximity stores, the Market aims to satisfy two increasingly present needs among customers: proximity to home and a very generous product range with a focus on fresh assortment. This includes:

  • Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers in the Our Garden program – Vărăști, Huși, Beiuș, Brezoaele, Ostrov cooperatives;
  • A refined selection of artisanal cheeses from the Enjoy Romanian Cheese program;
  • Regional wines and exclusive or established labels from the We Open Romanian Wine program;
  • Ready-to-eat products for customers who prefer a quick snack;
  • Carrefour private labels appreciated for their excellent quality-price ratio, such as Carrefour La Piață, Drag de România, Simpl, Carrefour Extra, Carrefour Bio;
  • Butcher products, fish, dairy, or grocery products suitable for daily needs;
  • Freshly baked bread and pastry products in the Bakery area, and many others.

In addition, the store offers an extended assortment of non-food consumer products for home maintenance and care, personal care products in the Perfume and Hygiene area, as well as products from the cooking universe, toys, clothes, or books on the Cărturești shelves.

For an even faster experience, customers have access to e-commerce platforms with home delivery for daily and weekly shopping, starting with the carrefour.ro website, the Carrefour app with the Act for Good loyalty program, and the retailer’s established partner, Bringo.

Store Hours

Customers are invited to discover the product range and promotions at Carrefour Market Cosmopolis Plaza from Monday to Sunday between 08:00 – 22:00. Inside the store, they also have services such as PayPoint, electronic recharge, bill payment, or vignette tickets, as well as the infrastructure for selective packaging collection within the Deposit-Return System (SGR).

To further personalize the shopping experience, Carrefour has included several remodeling processes in this year’s investment plan, after completing over 65 remodelings nationwide in the last two years, representing the strategic evolution of the retailer in Romania structured in expansion, improved shopping experience, local sourcing, digitalization, and people. Beyond the self-checkout counters equipped with a simple and intuitive scanning and payment system, customers benefit from the Scan & Pay option in the Carrefour app. With its help, they can scan products directly from the shelf, check prices, and then add them to the virtual cart and quickly pay at the checkout without placing the products on the belt. Through the app, they also have access to the Act for Good loyalty program, where they can find new offers and promotions every week.

Carrefour Romania
