Today’s employees and especially Gen Z are characterized by a focus on living consciously and caring for the environment. Moreover, they prioritize healthy lifestyles more than ever before, making the right choices in terms of physical activity, nutrition, and their relationship with nature.

Since a significant part of an individual’s time is spent in the office, the quality of these environments holds increasing importance for both personal well-being and productivity. These days, it’s no longer enough to fill the office with plants and place as many desks as possible next to windows with natural light to meet these evolving needs. Instead, the workspace provided by employers must be aligned with sustainability and wellbeing criteria. This includes not only the selection of construction materials but also considering the broader environmental impact of the office’s operations. By fostering a symbiotic relationship between people and nature, workplaces can contribute positively to both employee satisfaction and ecological sustainability.

Principles of biophilic design are also visible in YUNITY Park, the office campus in Bucharest’s corporate district designed to reestablish a connection between individuals and nature within a professional setting. Developed by Genesis Property, one of the leading owners, developers, and operators of Class A office buildings owned by Liviu Tudor, this business campus incorporates numerous green spaces, abundant natural light, and sustainable materials. The environment created encourages employees to engage in not only productive work but also relaxation, healthy living, and a deeper connection with nature.

Out of commitment to sustainability, YUNITY Park has a 1,000-square-meter urban forest that contributes to the absorption of over 5 tons of CO₂ annually. Furthermore, to reduce utility costs for the common areas, there is a rainwater retention pond that provides irrigation for the entire park, smart and energy-efficient LED systems for night lighting, and a network of over 1,000 photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of the campus buildings. The energy generated by the solar panels covers 12% of the total consumption needs of the entire office park, significantly lowering CO₂ emissions.

Moreover, the developer of the YUNITY Park concept, Genesis Property, is the first real estate developer in Romania to join the UN Global Compact alliance. As such, all seven buildings in YUNITY Park will have the IMMUNE Building Standard™ – Resilient, with 5 out of 5 stars, reflecting Genesis Property’s commitment to a healthy working and urban living environment.

The entire design for YUNITY PARK was guided by a respect for nature, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to the community. The biophilic design, innovative technologies used, and construction practices all aim to prioritize human wellbeing and promote sustainability at the heart of the urban landscape.
