On Thursday, December 7, BCR Social Finance and Launch, together with BCR, Bursa Binelui and ERSTE Foundation, officially launched AmpliFY ONG, a multi-year project that aims to create a stronger, more visible, sustainable and financially independent civic environment.

The project is addressed to small and medium-sized associations, from those recently established to those that already benefit from sponsorships and grants. Through AmpliFY ONG, they will receive access to an extensive network of resources, potential partners and mentors, as well as educational programs designed to develop their capacities.

In order to successfully fulfill their missions, NGOs must be able to adapt to the constant changes facing society and be open to connecting, learning and co-creating, which are also the opportunities that the partners in this project bring.

For the BCR group, promoting civil society and civic responsibility is part of the strategy to create a positive impact in Romania. BCR actively participates in the development of community businesses and develops civic leadership and education projects, through an entire ecosystem of partners and relevant social connectors.

BCR Social Finance is one of the most important financial organisations for the civil society and it is dedicated to the development of Romanian NGOs. BCR Social Finance creates positive impact in local communities by supporting entrepreneurs, social enterprises and NGOs, providing them with flexible financial services, through which they can successfully develop their activities. Also, BCR and Erste Group open up the opportunity to scale projects dedicated to innovation and social prosperity.

Launch, an initiative of How to Web, Google for Startups and InnovX-BCR, is the community that supports Romanian entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey. In this project, Launch brings the resources to build a strong community, as well as access to strategic partners from the corporate, startup and public environment.

AmpliFY NGO starts with a 1-year pilot, during which it will address the main challenges the NGO environment is facing, and will then continue over the next 5 years.

Goals for 2024 include:

building a community of at least 400 members, both from the NGO environment, as well as the public and private ones
publishing a report on the status and needs of the ecosystem and bringing the necessary resources to the community
organizing events, mentoring sessions and meetings on topics such as management, managing a team, fundraising

The launch event on December 7 was attended by representatives of the NGO environment, as well as BCR, ERSTE Foundation, BCR Social Finance and Launch. Among the main topics touched upon were:

What does a professional innovation model looks like:

“A professional innovation model is a co-creation space, which brings together technology, access to resources, new opportunities, and a matching between values and objectives. All of this comes to support people who give 100% of their best to create a positive impact,” Ana Crețu – Social Impact Investment Lead ERSTE Foundation

What does amplifying social impact means:

“Impact is built step by step, starting from a culture, from being in the right place, in the right community. It’s hard to make an impact without being consistent in your efforts, and we, through AmpliFY, aim to make real long-term changes.”Ștefan Buciuc, CEO BCR Social Finance

The main things an organisation needs to boost its impact:

“Co-creation, equality, collaboration. We need collaboration between the authorities, the private sector, civil society, NGOs, institutions. It is important to have fiscal and legislative stability, to remember that we are not in competition for resources, because through collaboration, we can have access to new opportunities. We must build this investable civil society of the future together,”Nicoleta Deliu Pasol – Communication Director CSR BCR

NGOs can register in AmpliFY ONG by filling out the form on the website.
