When vacationers plan their holiday, one of their major concerns is the activities that they will have available to them and their families. Consequently, a lot of a resort’s allure comes from the different options for fun and entertainment that they can offer their guests.

Surprisingly, this is an aspect of accommodation that most resorts don’t offer adequately. Improving the quality of entertainment at a resort will greatly increase its profitability.

But with guests that have such varied tastes, it can be a little overwhelming to try and discover what is right for your resort. Here are a few options and ideas to get you thinking so that you can get started.

In-Room Entertainment

One of the best entertainment features available in a hotel regardless of quality or size is in-room entertainment. The in-room entertainment consists of a few different activities. The two classic and most obvious forms of entertainment available inside a hotel room are room service and the in-room TV.

Room service usually comes in the variety of a minibar and a menu for the kitchen downstairs. Depending on the quality of the hotel, they may offer exquisite culinary delights, or they may just make sandwiches and cereal. You can mix it up by offering local delicacies or just ensuring that your menu is fresh and modern. Most hotel room service menus offer food selection that was pulled from the 70s. Make sure it has the foods that you’d like to eat.

The second classic in-room entertainment option is a TV. There are a few things you should consider when planning your TV installation for your rooms. The first thing is to make sure that it’s a modern and high-quality unit. And the second thing is the quality of your TV programming software

With Smart TV technology, hospitality TV services have developed greatly in recent times. If you want to offer a higher level of in-room TV entertainment, then you need to look into the different kinds of hospitality television services available. Having the right setup keeps guests entertained with in-room TV. These services not only improve the quality of your guest’s stay, but they also increase your profits.

Take Advantage Of Theatre Options

Another thing that will help you stay competitive in the industry is theater. Resorts are offering more and more professional quality entertainment in the form of theater and musical acts. Guests really enjoy this aspect especially when it’s integrated into their normal daily activities.

While traditional theater is an option if you if your hotel has the appropriate facilities, a more convenient theater option is to host dinner theater.

Dinner theater is a form of drama that presents short stories and plays in the dining room at dinner time. This enables guests to enjoy this form of entertainment during their normal daily activity so that they don’t need to choose between the hotel’s activity and other options available locally. This is important because many guests don’t have much time to do all the things that they would like to enjoy.

Dinner theater also elevates the fun and enjoyment of the daily task of eating dinner. This helps to ensure that customers thoroughly enjoy their stay at the hotel and have a memorable experience that will likely encourage them to return or share their experiences with their friends and colleagues.

Resort Band And Featured Artists

Another major form of evening entertainment is music and musical acts. There are a lot of different options to choose from and keeping it fresh with a few different options available throughout the week will ensure that your musical events are thoroughly enjoyed by your guests.

This means tapping into the local talent and creating a diverse schedule that has a few different musical style options available. Instead of having the same performers every night of the week, try to get at least three or four acts that play weekly, just having a freestyle jazz band is not enough,

This can be further improved if your resort has the access to funds that allows it to invite special guests, either from the local talent or more internationally recognized artists. Having this performance will make your resort stand out far beyond the competition. Not to mention the customer draw that it will bring in. You’re likely to recoup your expenses on drinks and door charges alone.

Weekend Game Fairs

And of course, children require special forms of entertainment. While they will likely enjoy the in-room TV with all of its features and the dinner theater, they aren’t likely to embrace some of the other forms of entertainment that are often available at your standard resort.

One of the best ways to keep children entertained and engaged is to create an activity or game fair. A game fair is just as it sounds, a selection of different games and activities that they can play in exchange for snacks and prizes. Every resort, regardless of its size, can take advantage of this idea. The game fair can range from small with only a few game choices to very large with many complex games and high-quality prizes.

If the resort doesn’t have a lot of community space nor the budget to put on a large game fair, then they can put up a handful of booths that offer games of skill. These games are endless fun, especially if there are prizes involved.

Some Booth options for a small resort include dart throwing, ball throwing, water gun races, and just about any other game of skill you can think of. You can also consider physical activities like climbing Jacob’s ladder or running a small obstacle course

These games are quite simple but the fun that they provide children is timeless. It’s likely that many young guests will have never experienced these games before and it will give them a good opportunity to put down their phones and get physical.

Medium and higher-quality resorts will have a lot more options. These options include bounce houses, high-quality obstacle courses, better games, archery, and a trampoline house. There are many extreme sports activities that can also be offered depending on the local environment.

Resorts have the opportunity to be extremely profitable like most landholdings. But they can also fall into disarray and become vacant vestiges of lost opportunity. It’s important to breathe life into the environment with titillating experiences and sensual delights.

There are a lot of choices out there and implementing a new entertainment schedule gives managers an opportunity to flex their creativity. It may also help to survey current customers about what their wants and needs are after staying at the resort. Whatever happens, new and fresh forms of entertainment will always go off with a bang, at least until everyone gets bored of it. Therefore, keep it fresh and light-hearted and the customers will start rolling in.
