A personalized approach to help every employee feel that they are truly crafting a future is one of the ways a company can keep the talent. A career development through a personalized individual development plan is what many people want from their employers, as Monica Mardare, HR Director at Luxoft Professional Romania, told Business Review in a short interview about how a company can stand as top employer over the years.

How does your company stand out as an employer to watch in 2024 and in the long run?

We believe what sets Luxoft apart as an employer to watch is our commitment to employee growth and stability. We understand that every person has their own dreams and goals, and we’re here to help them on that journey. Through LuxTalent, one of our internal hubs, each team member can shape their own career path. We’ve designed this personalized approach to help everyone feel that they’re truly crafting their future, not just filling a role. For instance, our career development process empowers individuals to create personalized Individual Development Plans and by collaborating closely with managers, employees can access resources and support to achieve their career goals.

We also designed the Career Development Framework, a map that helps everyone find their way, equipped with all the resources they need — from in-house training to courses on platforms like Udemy Business. When it comes to growing the career of our people, we’re with them every step of the way. And when someone is interested in trying a new path within Luxoft, our Internal Mobility program helps them explore different roles smoothly and confidently.

We all learned in recent years that change is part of any business, and we do our best to be prepared for it. Whether it’s a project shift or downsizing, our Career Hub team is ready to step in. They make sure everyone lands on their feet by finding roles that match their skills, ensuring that no one feels lost or left behind.

How does your company manage to maintain its status as a remarkable employer for new generations of employees and for your existing employees?

Luxoft’s strength is its people and we’re committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that resonates with both new and existing employees. From the moment you join Luxoft, you’re part of a diverse community that values every voice. We’re big on open communication and teamwork because we believe it’s essential for creating a place where everyone feels heard and belongs. This spirit keeps our workforce engaged and connected.

Another thing that helps us stand out is the variety of our projects. We cover almost everything from automotive, telecom, retail, to banking and capital markets, which means there’s always something new to learn and exciting challenges to tackle. This variety keeps our days interesting and ensures that everyone has the chance to work on something that excites them.

At Luxoft, learning and growth are part of our daily life. We offer a range of development opportunities that cater to all kinds of interests and career stages. It’s about coming together to share knowledge and experiences — something that not only makes us better at our jobs but also brings us closer as a team.

And another important thing is that we take employee feedback seriously. After all, our people know best what makes Luxoft a great place to work and what needs to be improved. By listening and adapting, we keep improving and making sure our community is where everyone wants to be.

Furthermore, at Luxoft we offer flexible benefits to employees through an online platform, buddy and mentoring programs, and plenty of fun events that bring us together in different ways, from sports competitions to photo contests and celebrations. And through our commitment to community initiatives like Planting Good Deeds and supporting local shelters, we not only give back but also share in the fulfillment that comes from making a positive impact.

It’s not just about the work, it’s about building lasting connections, that’s what makes us more than just a workplace. We’re a place where you can grow, belong and make a difference — in your career and in the wider world.
