Cognizant Romania, a leading IT company in the country, is expanding its workforce by recruiting more than 100 IT experts. This recruitment drive adds to the over 100 employees that have already joined the company since the beginning of 2024. The available positions are Mid-Senior level roles spread across Romania, offering a hybrid work model. These positions are open to specialists in various domains including Java, FullStack Web, .NET, AI & Analytics, Data, DevOps, and QA Automation. Additionally, Cognizant Romania is launching a new “edu-tech” concept in the Studio at Destiny Park Bucharest, an innovative space for play and learning that the company has been operating since 2022.

The evolution of technology also brings new trends in the market, in terms of the training that today’s IT specialists need to have in order to cope with the demand in the business area.

More details can be found in the study conducted by Cognizant together with Oxford Economics, New Work, New World, which refers to the adoption of generative artificial intelligence and the impact on society and the future of work (the study includes the assessment and forecast of the economic impact of Gen AI in the United States over the next 10 years). It predicts that 90% of jobs will be disrupted in some way by generative artificial intelligence, setting the stage for a profound shift in the way we approach work, productivity, and economic growth. The impact of technology will be influenced by the adoption rate by businesses and how quickly people can adapt to the new ways of working.

“The IT sector has experienced constant challenges in recent years from accelerated growth to the rebalancing that began in 2023. The adaptability and flexibility of companies and specialists in the field are a priority in this context. It is important to continue to generate value for each industry through digital solutions that are now evolving at an accelerated pace and to support our customers thus ensuring mutual success. Every IT specialist needs to analyze their skill set and expertise, to learn, to develop constantly, in order to keep up with new trends. This starts early, through the educated appetite for technology that the new generations have and continues throughout the career of each professional”, said Mihai Constandis, Country Manager, Cognizant Romania.

“As our clients look more and more to the future and think about what their business will look like tomorrow, looking to innovate, especially trying to incorporate artificial intelligence, we have tried to think about the services and solutions we offer in such a way as to meet these needs. Lately, we have noticed a growing willingness from clients to invest in this direction. Therefore, in addition to the over 100 employees hired at the beginning of 2024, we are now hiring over 100 IT experts, Mid-Senior, from all over Romania, for remote work, specialists in Java, Full Stack Web, .NET, AI & Analytics, Data, DevOps, and QA Automation”, said Matei Neagos, Head of Delivery, Cognizant Romania.

These experts will work with clients from the US and Europe, companies operating in areas such as Healthcare, Media & Tech, Banking & Financial Services, Retail, Automotive, who want personalized digital experiences for their end users and business, with the aim of automating, optimizing and digitizing their experiences. IT specialists can apply for available jobs directly on the Cognizant LinkedIn page, in the “Jobs” section in Romania.

“Continuous education is a strategic direction in Cognizant Romania, our employees benefit from extensive Learning & Development programs, including Reskilling and Upskilling programs and innovation programs (Bluebolt). In June we had a week dedicated to Learning & Development, and in June-July we run the Innovation Festival internally, a context in which our colleagues share innovation experiences”, said Raluca Dolan, HR Director, Cognizant Romania.

“We invest in education in the communities we are part of. At the end of June, we donated IT equipment worth 85,000 Euros to the Students’ Association of the University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca”, added Raluca Dolan, HR Director, Cognizant Romania.

“We are also investing in education through alternative methods, such as collaborating with Destiny Park, this unique space that will leave its mark on the new generations of young people,” said Raluca Dolan, HR Director, Cognizant Romania.

Cognizant Romania launches a new concept, an interactive tech Studio for children, at Destiny Park

Cognizant Romania launches a new “edu-tech” concept in the Studio at Destiny Park Bucharest, where the company has been present with an alternative space for play and learning since 2022.

Cognizant Romania is the only IT partner of Destiny Park, this miniature city, dedicated to children, and this summer the company comes with a new experience designed to activate the creativity and curiosity of visitors. Children who arrive in the Cognizant experience space will take their first steps into the realm of IT. From unique puzzles, logic series, general knowledge questions related to technology, to games designed to develop various skills and knowledge, all these offer children and young people an optimal framework for exploring technology in an attractive way.

“Destiny Park is a landmark in non-formal education in Romania. In 2023 we had 173,175 visitors. When we opened the park, in September 2022, we considered, for the first year, only visitors from Bucharest and Ilfov. Now we have children not only from all over the South East and South West of the country, but also from cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Oradea or Timisoara and from abroad. This makes us happy, because people quickly understood what learning through play and play means. Partnerships with reputable companies like Cognizant help us bring realism to children’s experiences and strengthen their perception of representative industries. Children love technology and enjoy experiences that also bring fun, in addition to information. That is why Cognizant’s activity in Destiny Park is highly appreciated, and the change we have just made will make children even more interested in the IT field”, said Ana-Maria Pascaru, Marketing Director of Destiny Park.

The activities are structured by age categories, 3-6 years old, 7-10 years old and 11-14 years old, so that each child who arrives at the Cognizant Studio has a memorable experience, appropriate to both their age and their perception, understanding and curiosity.
