Newsroom 12/06/2024 | 13:20

Creating communities around a company, together with the employees, is not a simple task. Rompetrol, a company with over 5,400 employees, managed to create communities according to their areas of interest, to motivate each other and build together, while growing the next generations of leaders and experts in the Energy sector. Business Review talked to Gina Cruceru, Group Human Resources Director at Rompetrol (KMG International), to find out more about the way the company manages to keep the employees motivated.

How does your company stand out as an employer to watch in 2024 and on the long run?

Our commitment as an employer is illustrated by our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) “Together We Grow People.” We have gathered our projects and initiatives in four pillars of contribution, thus providing the framework for Rompetrol people to create communities according to their areas of interest, to motivate each other and build together, while growing the next generations of leaders and experts in the Energy sector.

To excel requires practice and perseverance, but equally important is the need to have models we look up to in our industry. For us, these sources of inspiration are and will remain Rompetrol people, our colleagues, representatives of all active generations active on the labor market. We have learned that it is their stories that inspire and drive candidates to apply even for technical, niche roles.

How does your company manage to maintain its status of a remarkable employer for the new generations of employees but also for your existing employees?

In Rompetrol, we promote a culture of learning and growth, with all generations actively involved in development initiatives. We understand that the energy industry is constantly evolving and staying abreast of the latest technical challenges requires a skilled and agile workforce. To meet this need, we have developed and implemented a range of initiatives that focus on the growth of professionals in the company through training and reskilling/upskilling, as well as the younger generations who will become the professionals and leaders of tomorrow through Traineeship programs, practiceship, mentorship, scholarship, dual education and knowledge transfer. Our goal is to provide our employees with the expertise and flexibility to effectively respond to emerging challenges in the Energy sector.

The investment in people support the continuity and development of any company, thus maintaining a status of employer of choice. For Rompetrol-KMG International Group, this is an operating principle, in the sense that we offer our colleagues the tools to develop and acquire the necessary skills to grow in a context governed by transformation.

Our development and mentoring programs such as “Together We Grow Traineeship”, along with knowledge transfer and technical training programs meant to obtain a qualification, such as the “Rompetrol School”, are designed to grow our future colleagues.

Also, recognizing the merits of current colleagues who get involved and are otherwise our brand ambassadors and mentors, supporting, for example, partnerships with the academic environment, is another way of investing in the human capital, which supports and complements the previous one. The result consists in building a culture oriented towards learning and adapting to the new challenges of the labour market.

We grow together a community, generation after generation.
