DOUGLAS, Europe’s leading premium beauty and health platform, is celebrating 15 years of activity on the Romanian market, since its launch in Târgu Mureș in 2007. During this time, the DOUGLAS store network has expanded to 38 locations in 21 Romanian cities.
In 2016, the company also launched the Douglas.ro online platform, which currently offers a selection of over 25,000 available products.
”We are happy to announce that DOUGLAS is the largest national beauty and health retailer and the market leader in terms of the number of physical stores opened in 21 cities, and not only: in 2019, we also opened the largest beauty store in the country, in Timișoara, covering approximately 600 square meters and located in Iulius Town. Even with the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, in the 15-year history of DOUGLAS in Romania, brick-and-mortar stores have remained the engine of our activity in the country – thus, this year, we opened a series of convenience stores, each of these locations offering over 10,000 premium products and services,” declares Lavinia Ivas, Country Manager DOUGLAS Romania.
The RO Brand category also represents a winning bet for the company. DOUGLAS created this category two years ago to offer customers the much-loved local products in a carefully curated range. Those looking for local products can currently choose from 33 brands with over 1,300 items available on the platform.
The evolution of the company was also felt at the team level during the company’s 15 years of activity in Romania. If the first store was opened with a team of three people, now, the number of DOUGLAS employees in Romania has reached 350, with 20 of them having more than ten years of experience with the company. This figure is increasing as the company grows and expands.
