Residents of Bucharest will be able to pay for taxi rides through POS

PayPoint continues to develop the digital payment area and announces a new partnership with Meridian Taxi, one of the most important taxi companies in Bucharest. The first phase of the project involves the installation of PayPoint POS in more than 1,000 vehicles of the taxi company, so that users who want a modern way of payment or who do not have cash at hand, can pay for trips with the card directly in the car, fast and easy.

The partnership is in line with the company’s strategic direction to simplify payments and diversify its range of products and services for end consumers. Thus, by expanding the POS network outside the retail environment, the company wants to be closer to consumers and offer them convenient payment methods for daily activities and needs. PayPoint plans to develop new similar services in the near future.

The first phase of the project is underway and involves the installation of PayPoint POS in 1,000 vehicles belonging to the Meridian company. Taxis that will have PayPoint POS installed will be signaled with dedicated branding, through stickers displaying the availability of the new service. This new functionality is available for residents of Bucharest and its surroundings. Card payments brokered by PayPoint do not incur any customer fees.
