Geanina Ungureanu, Senior Leasing and Asset Manager Retail at IMMOFINANZ Romania, talked during the first panel of BR’s re:Focus on Retail and Logistics, How did the world change and what really matters today.
“All brands try to be present on every communication channel, but there’s not a one-way approach for offline stores to also have an online presence. The opposite is also happening, with traditional online commerce platforms opening their own physical stores. Amazon is the best example for this.
Consumers want everything, here and now, to be available as soon as possible. This means stocks need to be very thoroughly planned, as well as the customer service area, the human factor inside the store. From my experience, retailers are not very satisfied with the costs and logistics in the online sector.
For us, as shopping centers, it’s a good thing when the online sector is not at its highest capacity. 2020 will be a good year for us, at least as good as 2019.
We are investing considerable amounts into transforming our malls, in order to make them modern, high-quality shopping centers for both today’s standards, as well as 10 years from now. We plan on having office spaces, kindergartens, or conference rooms in our malls.”
