BR: Thank you for granting us the honor of becoming a Jury member of the distinguished 2021 committee. Business Review Awards – probably one of the most coveted prizes in the industry – is one of BR’s dearest projects, spotlighting the achievements of the business community, awarding and celebrating the companies, business leaders and entrepreneurs that have shown drive, initiative and achieved the best results in their field of business. We are inviting you to point out your perspective over the 2020 year situation:

How do you define performance in the 2020 challenging year?

Mihaela Bîtu: Navigating successfully in a highly uncertain environment. Demonstrating adaptability and responsibility. And last, but not least, being innovative and adjusting course where needed, in order to leverage on the opportunities brought by this crisis and minimize its negative impact.

BR: From your point of view, what mattered the most in a company’s leadership, to continue to keep the business afloat?

Mihaela Bîtu: Defining a clear strategic path helps keeping people aligned and staying the course. We have seen leaders and corporates acting really fast in this crisis, adjusting business models, accelerating certain projects that became more relevant, critically reviewing their cost base etc. Speed of reaction makes a difference in difficult circumstances and may determine whether you’re continuing to be successful or the opposite. Also, I think it is paramount for leaders in such circumstances to show care and respect for people, to stay close and communicate even more than in normal circumstances.
