The Justice Palace to be lit in pink, part of a cancer awareness campaign

The Romanian Palace of Justice will be lit in pink, this Saturday, at 19:15, reminding women that they have the right to proper information and health care.

On October 1st, The Renasterea Foundation in partnership with the Romanian Magistrates Association, will organize the 11th edition of the event called “Lightning in pink” – symbol of the fight against breast cancer. This year, the Palace of Justice will be lit the color of hope, under the slogan: The right to information, the right to health.

The event will be hosted by Andreea Esca, the Ambassador of the Renasterea Foundation, Mihaela Geoana and Cristiana Copos, and will include a musical performance of pan-flute and voice by Oana Lianu. The evening will conclude with a “pink” reception.

“Each year on October 1st, we are lightning in pink a representative building to remind women that breast cancer can be cured through information, prevention and proper medical check ups. The symbol event of Renasterea Foundation offers us the chance to share the results of our 10 years of activity and to thank the 180.000 persons who benefited from our medical services”, stated Mihaela Geoana, President and Founder of Renasterea Foundation.

This year, Bacau, Cluj, Constanta, Targu Mures, Petrosani, Pascani cities have joined Bucharest in sending a message against breast cancer.

The Renasterea Foundation for Education, Health and Culture was set up in 2001, bringing in the public eye the issue of breast cancer. As a result of the activity sustained in this domain, the Romanian authorities have granted the foundation the status of Public Utility Organization.
