Red Hot Chili Peppers play Romania for the first time

American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will play for the first time in Romania, which has been confirmed by the band on their official website.

The much-awaited concert which will surely attract tens of thousands will take place on August 31 on the recently revamped National Arena in Bucharest.

Tickets for the concert will be out for sale starting with December 13 on the website www.myticket.ro and later in the Diverta stores. The organizer of the show in Romania is eMagic Entertainment.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- made up of frontman Anthony Kiedis, bass guitarist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitar player Josh Klinghoffer- have recently launched an album called I’m With You.

The four are a long-standing cult band with a career of 10 albums and 60 million sold records. They mixed rock with funk, and incorporate also punk, hip hop and psychedelic rock influences.

Their first commercial success was Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which sold over 13 million copies. However, the best sold record of the band was Californication, out in 1999, which sold 15 million copies.

In 2006, Red Hot Chili Peppers released the double album Stadium Arcadium, their first number one album in America.

Their records went platinum multiple times as well as brought them Grammies such as Best Rock Album for Stadium Arcadium, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group for Dani California or Best Rock Song for Scar Tissue.
