Romanian startups among regional top five solutions

Romanian startups 3D Printing Hub and Peelhy qualified among top 5 regional solutions of BASF Innovation Hub, pitch competition for sustainable future. Their win on a regional final opens a possibility for participation in the Grand Finale competition for the whole Central and Southeast Europe.

 

Startup 3D Printing Hub develops a solution connecting quality providers of 3D printing services and customers in need of it, through a platform offering a more efficient services, while startup Peelhy develops an antimicrobial, biodegradable biosticker for fresh foods and vegetables with edible peel decreasing their contamination potential.

Live pitch presentations will begin on Thursday, November 23, at 9 EST (Bucharest time) and are free to follow on the official BASF Innovation Hub YouTube channel. BASF Innovation Hub pitch competition is intended for ideas dealing with Cleantech, Circularity and Farm to Fork solutions, which are an integral part of the European Green Deal.

Andreas Lier, Managing Director of BASF for Romania, Bulgaria and North Macedonia, emphasizes that BASF Innovation Hub is being held for a third year in a row, with very high interest for participation from startups: “This year we have received more than 120 applications from 11 European countries, more than in the previous editions. Europe has a vision to become the first climate neutral continent by 2050. Thus, government, industry and individuals need to work together and startups are playing a very important role in this context”.

Two of the best solutions from the regional finals automatically qualify for the next phase, where they will encounter the winners of other regional finals.
