Starbucks will open this Thursday a coffee shop in Constanta, its first location in the Black Sea city. This will increase the American giant’s presence in Romania to 10 outlets and the company has plans to double this number by year end, said Costin Gheorghiu, district manager Starbucks Romania.
Up until recently the Starbucks franchise for Romania was owned by Marinopoulos which opened the first local Starbucks coffee shop in 2007.
The coffee shop in Constanta is located on the grounds of the Maritimo Shopping Center mall. Starbucks presently operates seven coffee shops in Bucharest and another two in Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara.
American-based Starbucks is a global coffee company and the largest coffeehouse chain in the world. It presently operates over 20,000 coffee shops worldwide.
