Last year, Petrom contributed to another social responsibility and volunteering project “Romania House,” developed by Habitat for Humanity in Radauti, having supported the project both financially and with employees who worked as volunteers in building the houses. That successful experience led the firm to extend the partnership with Habitat for Humanity which resulted this year in the “Building for the Future” project.
Besides actually financing the construction of the houses, the aim of the project is also to raise social responsibility by involving volunteers. More than 95 percent of the construction works will be fulfilled by volunteers recruited from the community, from Petrom's employees and from the beneficiary families.
“Building for the Future” is part of Petrom's social responsibility platform, “Respect for the Future.”
Habitat for Humanity, Comanesti, was founded in April, 2004, for the welfare of the people in Bacau County. The organization's policy is to raise social responsibility by involving volunteers in the construction of houses for the needy.
