Romanian IT&C integrator Datacor has increased its revenues in 2020 and estimates a 15% increase in turnover in 2021

Datacor recorded revenues of 45 million lei (9.2 million euros) in 2020, a slight increase compared to 2019, which was a year with historical performances for the company. In 2019, the IT&C integrator obtained a turnover of 8.8 million euros and a profit of 3 million euros.

The company estimates that in 2020 the profitability rate will be similar to that of 2019, in the context in which, in the last two years, Datacor has invested heavily in the new production line and warehouse in Bistrita.

The main objectives for the company in 2020 were to develop the necessary capabilities for the company to launch its own products on the European market and maintain the profit rate. These objectives have been achieved, the company estimating a profit increase of +3% compared to 2019 and already preparing the launch in Germany of fiber optic products manufactured in Bistrita.

“There are several factors that make us believe that now is the opportune moment to launch the production of fiber optic connectivity elements. In Europe, access to information has become a priority and large-scale projects are planned to develop communication infrastructures, all of which need the speed and security offered by a fiber optic communications platform (either FTTH or 5G networks). Also, in the current global situation, imports from Asia are much more difficult than in previous years, and this aspect would be an additional argument for opening production facilities in our area “, said Bogdan Bilegan, CEO of Datacor.

“With production, our strategy will be to find innovative solutions adapted to the customer’s needs. The capabilities of the production line are very extensive, and with the resulting products we will be able to address the most challenging projects. This flexibility to manufacture products with the exact desired characteristics and to deliver in a short time is a major advantage”, added Cristian Bilegan, CMO within Datacor.

With the international launch of Datacor products, the company’s management estimates a 15% increase in turnover in 2021.

The IT&C solutions integrator Datacor has invested 1.25 million euros in the construction of a new fiber optic factory in Bistrita and continues employment in the region in order to start the production. The factory will start production at the end of Q1 / 2021 and will address the following market segments: fiber-to-the-home, data centers, 5G, LANs (Local Area Networks).

Datacor has also allocated over 800,000 euros for the development of a regional logistics center in Bistrita, which it will be inaugurated this year.

Even in the current situation, Datacor maintains its investment plan and development strategy for the coming years, in order to ensure an optimal coverage both nationally and internationally for the company’s products and services.

The Datacor team will grow significantly this year, both for the launch of the production line and for other positions within the company. The number of employees in 2020 has increased to 81 people, from 69 people in 2019.
