IT School, one of the most relevant local alternative education providers for IT courses, launches TechEvents, the first app custom-built for tech and programming events in Romania.

The app groups together the most exciting and relevant IT-related events, supporting the growth and development of the Romanian tech community.

TechEvents is targeting three types of users: IT specialists and tech industry aficionados, looking for networking opportunities, companies and event organizers looking to promote their initiatives and attract relevant participants to meetups, meetings, conferences, technical workshops or webinars, and juniors in IT, looking to get in touch with professionals and access tech communities.

“We built the app because we identified an immediate unresolved need: helping people get in touch with the local tech communities, in a simple and accessible manner. In Romania, we couldn’t find a niched platform built exclusively for tech events. As a consequence, we decided to take ownership and build it. There are many categories of users that will find TechEvents particularly useful. Our forecast for the first week after the launch is that the app will be downloaded by 1.000 users. On top of training and the courses that we offer to our students, IT School is looking to contribute to the growth and development of the local IT communities. We hope that through this app, we will achieve our objective”, says Cătălin Ciobanu, Founder and CEO of IT School.

The number of events that have been already added in the Beta testing phase of the app has reached 100 (from the beginning of the year until now), which shows the appetite for both organizing and attending events, including the ones that imply a physical presence, once the restrictions have been lifted.

Once installed, the app allows easy navigation for users. The events can be filtered by city or type (online and offline) and saved to better manage them inside the app.

Companies, as well as organizations, can add their events, free of charge. Due to the fact that the app is only focusing on IT events, each newly added event is reviewed and needs to be approved before being published.

The TechEvents app is incorporated into the integrative learning cycle, developed by IT School, called “ecosystem”. This ecosystem also includes the juniors.ro platform, that allows IT juniors to find technical jobs.

TechEvents is an app that can be downloaded for free from App Store or Google Play.
