Rock Holding obtains the construction permit for the five-star hotel project from Poiana Brasov

Real estate company Rock Development Holding obtained the construction permit for the development of the first five-star hotel project from Poiana Brasov, which will attract an investment of EUR 70 million.

The new luxury project will consist of hotel with 120 rooms and a branded residence component, with 75 units. Branded residence units are unique luxury homes, designed, developed, furnished, and equipped according to the standards of a top international hotel operator or a top brand from the luxury industry.

The difference between a branded residence and a standard luxury apartment consists in the multitude of services to which the owners have access 24 hours a day – for example, housekeeping, room service, access to the SPA and wellness centre, specialised restaurants from the hotel and concierge services.

”The project we are developing in Poiana Brasov will be one of the most prestigious from Eastern Europe, and will also include 75 trophy properties, luxury residences designed and developed according to the highest standards in the field, similar to other branded properties that can be found in luxury destinations from Europe, the Middle East, America or exotic destinations. Poiana Brasov will thus compete with other European mountain resorts that include five-star hotel projects”, a stated Mircea Cotigă, CEO Rock Development Holding.

The company is currently in an analysis process that will lead to the selection of the international luxury operator. The 75 branded residences will also be directly managed by the selected operator, being the first in Romania to be part of a global luxury chain.  Each owner will additionally benefit from all the facilities of the five-star complex, having also the possibility to rent them through the hotel operator.

The management of the development company is ensured by Mircea Cotiga, a former banker with over 15 years of experience in the local banking sector, ex-CEO of UniCredit Leasing, with the support of Mircea Draghici, managing partner at Est Hospitality, one of the most experienced consultants in the hospitality industry, with over 20 years of experience in the market, being the first Romanian graduate of the MBA program at Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (2007), the most prestigious university in the field in the world.

Rock Development Holding is one of the most important developers active on the superior segment of the residential middle market from Bucharest, with investments of over EUR 53 million in the development of Politehnica Parc Residence and Avrig Park Residence, two reference projects for Grozavesti – Politehnica and Bucur Obor areas from Bucharest, with a total of almost 800 apartments. The company is currently developing the second phase of Avrig Park Residence, with 222 apartments, following an estimated investment of EUR 23 million.
