Metropolitan Life appoints Adina Murariu as the Director of Operations

Metropolitan Life announced the appointment of Adina Murariu as Director of Operations for the life insurance company in Romania. Adina Murariu will take over this role from Cosmin Vlad, who will continue his career with Metropolitan Life in a regional role in Spain.

With over 20 years of experience in project development and operations coordination, Adina will bring her expertise to further develop the Metropolitan Life Operations team and enhance the services provided to customers in line with their needs. She has left her mark on the insurance and IT industry through optimization strategies, customer experience enhancement, and innovations that have simplified interactions with companies in these sectors.

With over 16 years of experience in life insurance and private pensions, Cosmin Vlad joined Metropolitan Life team in 2015. Robotic automation, operational process efficiency, and optimization are just a few of the key projects accomplished under Cosmin’s leadership. These projects had a positive and immediate impact on simplifying and optimizing customer experience, as well as on the continuous development of the team. In the past, he also led the Value Proposition & Product teams in Romania and Ukraine and successfully repositioned the product offer, strategically addressing customers’ financial protection needs. Starting September 1, 2023, Cosmin will take on a regional role, EMEA Employee Benefit Product Lead, working alongside MetLife Spain team.

The company recorded a 4% increase in gross written premiums in the first three months of 2023, compared to the same period last year. Thus, in the first quarter of 2023, Metropolitan Life recorded gross written premiums amounting to 155,963,800 lei, and during the first quarter of 2023, paid allowances amounting to a total value of 42,976,704 lei.
