Life Dental Spa Management Changes: Cristina Obreja M.D. Takes Over as CEO of the Dental Chain

As of September, Cristina Obreja M.D., a dentist certified in the use of laser technologies and co-founder of Life Dental Spa, has taken over as CEO of the chain of dental clinics with 11 locations nationwide, and the company will enter a new phase of development.

Cristina Obreja M.D. has over 15 years of experience in the dental field and has contributed to the accelerated development of the Life Dental Spa business in recent years, having attracted dozens of professional and dedicated doctors to the team and coordinated, among other things, the expansion of the dental clinic chain.

“After years of active presence in dental offices, training and evaluating medical teams and bringing dental laser technology closer to patients and colleagues, I accepted the offer to take direct responsibility for the expansion of Life Dental Spa and coordinate the development of the dental chain nationwide from the position of CEO. I am grateful to Stefan Obreja for his involvement in the project and for the last years of development, in which we reached an important goal – to exceed the threshold of 10 million euros in business at Group level, after a doubling of turnover from one year to the other. I am sure that this is just a step towards the next goal – to take the Life Dental Spa brand to all major cities in the country,” said Cristina Obreja M.D, Life Dental Spa CEO and cofounder.

The investments made by the Group over the last 3 years amount to more than 10 million euros and include, for the most part, the opening of nine locations in the main cities of the country, staff training, promotion and awareness campaigns to improve the quality of life by treating dental problems.

Life Dental Spa clinics are currently located in Bucharest (3 locations), Iasi, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Brasov, Arad, Sibiu, Pitesti and Constanta.

In the coming years, the Life Dental Spa Group of companies aims to reach over 100 dental, dermatological and beauty clinics with a total investment value that could exceed 10 million euros.

“We aim to open at least one Life Dental Spa location in the main cities in Romania with more than 100,000 inhabitants. On our list this year is a new clinic in Timisoara, Ploiesti and Craiova and we are actively looking for space for another location in Bucharest. We are also open to the possibility of partnering with other medical entrepreneurs who want to take laser dental treatment and more to the next level. It’s the technology of the future, pain-free, no drill and proven to work. On our list is also a new beauty concept, unique in Romania, which will complement our dental work,” Cristina Obreja M.D. stated.

The investment budget for a partnership location in a dental clinic starts fromEUR 20,000 – for a minority stake in the business – and can go up to 49% of the business.

Stefan Obreja, co-founder of the Life Dental Spa chain of dental clinics, will focus on new projects, which are aimed at activities in the area of business development, but will also remain active on the Life Dental Spa board.  

„I will set up an accelerator for medical and non-medical clinics, through which I aim to triple the turnover of those who enter into partnership with us, within a 2 years period. The experience gained in the 5 years since I joined Life Dental Spa has shown me that by using the right strategies and identifying well-optimised teams, success is guaranteed. The Life Dental Spa business has doubled in size from one year to the next since I joined the project, and the recipe I have applied and the know-how I have gained during this time I want to use in the development of other businesses in the medical field. According to public data, in 2022 we had the most profitable business in the Romanian dental field, with double the profit of the first competitor after us. I wanted all the experience I gained in Life Dental Spa to be able to replicate it on a large scale, so setting up the accelerator is a natural step for me at this point,” Stefan Obreja, investor and Life Dental Spa cofounder added.

Basically, any business in the medical field and beyond that aims for accelerated growth in the coming years is suitable to be part of this new accelerator.  

“The trend in the dental industry is towards corporatization and it is only a matter of time before we could see major new acquisitions by investment funds or strategic investors to integrate national dental chains or practices into a larger business portfolio. Our goal, through the launch of the business accelerator, is to create strategic partnerships that will keep clinics across the country as independent as possible,” Stefan Obreja concluded.

Moreover, Stefan Obreja, together with the Life Dental Spa team, is preparing the launch of a new “beauty” and “skincare” concept, through which he aims to offer customers a total relaxation and beauty experience, a project that will materialize in the next period and for which he is actively seeking partners for franchising or development.
