Julien Munch is appointed Chief Operating Officer of Carrefour France from January 2024

A number of strategic appointments have been made within the Carrefour Group at European level. After a strong career in the Carrefour Romania team during his three-year tenure, Julien Munch is appointed Chief Operating Officer in Carrefour France, starting January 2024. During the transition period, Laurent Vallée, Carrefour Group Secretary General and CEO for the Northern Europe region, will act as interim CEO for Romania.

“I thank the Group for the trust placed. Leaving this beautiful Romania will be heartbreaking. After three intense years, thousands of kilometers around the country and so many moments shared with colleagues, partners and customers, I will definitely leave a part of myself here. I thank all 17,000 colleagues for what we have achieved together for our customers over the past three years. I discovered talented, committed and extremely professional people. I discovered also 41 counties and a country that Romanians can be proud of” declared Julien Munch.

Carrefour Romania is today showing solid momentum with an expanding Omnichannel network of nearly 450 stores, and the recent integration of Cora stores.
