CFR Calatori has a new director

Minister of transports Ovidiu Silaghi has appointed Stefan Roseanu as general director of state –owned railway operator CFR Calatori, according to Agerpress. He is replacing Dorin Maier who has held the position since July 2011 when he was appointed by former minister, Anca Boagiu.

Roseanu is co-founder of the Railway Club, an NGO that supports and promotes national and international public rail transports.

He is also part of the ‘Rail Platform Strategy’ working group which was set up by European Commission Vice President Siim Kallas, in order to discuss issues related the European railway system and provide advisory.

Between 2007-2012, Roseanu was secretary general of Romania Railway Industry Association (AIF).
