Wizz Air estimates it will transport in 2010 around 2 million passengers to and from Romania, which represents a 21 percent increase compared to last year. In 2009, 1.65 million passengers travelled with Wizz Air. „This year we expect to transport to and from Romania around 2 million passengers, which represents an increase compared to 2009, since we will expand our flight network and we will have new operational basis,” according to Natasa Kazmer, corporate communications & public affairs manager in Wizz Air, quoted by Mediafax.
In 2010 Wizz Air will add a third aircraft to the base in Cluj- Napoca, which will allow to launch new flights to destinations such as Pisa and Cuneo, starting with June. Wizz Air will also launch flights from Timisoara to Forli in March and from Bucharest to Pisa in June.
Last year, the occupancy degree in the company’s aircrafts was 85 percent, similar to 2008. However, the number of passengers on the Romanian routes increased with 87 percent in 2009 compared to 2008.
