What to do in Bucharest this weekend?

October weekend continues with interesting events in Bucharest. Here are some of our recommendations.

For cheesecake lovers, there is a special event at J.W. Marriott Hotel on Saturday, October 15, Bucharest Cheesecake Day.There will be a tasting of the 10 cheesecake combos of the house including the JW Cheesecake. Among the flavors that will take part to our event, you will find oreo cheesecake, pistachio cheesecake, raspberries cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake and the refreshing key lime cheesecake. One of the most important cultural event of this fall is Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest, between October 14- 23 from 18:00. This is an extended edition, with over 100 screenings of the most anticipated films of the Cannes Film Festival selection. For the first time, the festival will last for ten days. This year’s Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest will take place at CinemaPRO, Cinema Elvire Popesco, Cinema Muzeul Taranului and the Auditorium Hall at the National Art Museum.

Jazz lovers can enjoy Love Songs From Jazz Standards at Green Hours Cafe on October 15 from 8 PM. Florin Raducanu will play the piano, Sebastian Mihai the saxophone and Adrian Flautistu the contrabass. As piano player and composer, Raducanu covers a diversified area of musical projects from solo piano to symphonic orchestra. The ticket is RON 25 if it’s paid before the event day or RON 30 if it’s bought in the event day.

On October 16, the October Garage Sale – See Buy Bye Bazaar takes places from 11 AM to 8 PM at Maison 13 yard. There will be clothes for fall-winter season, but also sales up to 90 percent for the summer products. There will also be food prepared by Voyageur Van, as well as pets without owners from the Dog Rescue Shelter Association that can be adopted.
