Dan Bucsa will oversee the research team of UniCredit for the Central and Eastern Europe region as the chief economist starting November 17.

Bucsa will replace Lubomir Mitov, who resigned and moved to the US. The new chief economist for the CEE region will report directly to Erik F. Nielsen, the chief economist of UniCredit Group.

In the past five years, Bucsa has worked as lead CEE economist of UniCredit in London and previously held a role in UniCredit Bank Romania. Before joining the private sector, he held classes at the University of Economic Studies in Bucharest (ASE) and worked in the modelling and macroeconomic prognosis department of the National Bank of Romania.

Bucsa holds a PhD in Macroeconomics and Master’s degree in Finance from ASE.
