The Toro Company – international loan and precision-irrigation equipment provider – announced that will invest EUR 20 million in a micro-irrigation equipment factory for the vegetables growers, orchards and vineyards in Eastern Europe.
According to company information, the plant will be placed in Ploiesti and will support the production of the Toro situated in Rome, Italy.
“Romania offers many advantages due to its central location and access to qualified production resources. The decision to invest in Romania was positively influenced by the support given by the government through the state aid scheme approved by the Ministry of Finance”, said Judy Altmaier, operations VP at The Toro Company.
The construction of the new plant is expected to start at the beginning of this year, while the start of the production is planned for late summer this year. Once it becomes operational, the plant of approximately 12,500 square meters will offer nearly 100 jobs.
In addition to the factory in Romania, Toro has specialized units for micro-irrigation systems production in Rome, Australia and North America.
