Tenaris opens USD 5 million services center in Ploiesti, Romania

Tubes and related services provider Tenaris has opened a USD 5 million services center in Ploiesti dedicated to its clients in the oil and gas industry. The center is located inside the Ploiesti industrial park and provides vendor managed inventory VMI services for OMV Petrom and other clients in the oil and gas industry.

Tenaris entered the Romanian market in 2004 with its then subsidiary Silcotub SA. The company has invested USD 150 million since in its production facilities and technology upgrades. The company’s plans for 2011-2013 include another USD 150 million investments. The main investment tragets are the building of a new facility for oil pipes (OCTG) and a new line for pipes used in the energy industry.
