Ride sharing app Taxify has launched a service that allows users to send packages in Bucharest.
Users simply have to open the app and choose Delivery, select the package’s destination, and confirm, then wait for the driver to arrive and hand them the package.
The delivery can be tracked in real time, and the person sending the package can share the trip with others. The minimum fee is RON 10, but there is no time-based fee like there is with the ride sharing service. The service is currently only available in Bucharest.
Similar services have also been launched by Glovo, which can deliver packages on bikes and scooters, and Uber Eats, which only delivers food.
Eight out of ten Romanians are aware of at least one ride sharing service, according to an iSense Solutions survey carried out online with Romanians living in urban environments.
According to the survey, the most notorious ride sharing service is Uber, followed by BlaBlaCar, Taxify and BlackCab.
