Prevention is key when it comes to maintaining the health of employees, Regina Maria corporate affairs director Ovidiu Vasile said at the Healthiest Companies – Preliminary results of the OWB Study event organized by Business Review.
30 percent of adults went to see a doctor in the past year only after they showed symptoms. One in five people saw a doctor for checks for prevention purposes, Vasile said, quoting a GfK study.
A share of 3.5 percent of adults who saw a doctor discovered a new condition in the past 12 months. Moreover, in terms of life expectancy, the gap between Romania and Western Europe countries stands at 7-8 years.
Most of Regina Maria’s corporate clients used the obstetrics and gynecology sections (15 percent), pediatry (10 percent), Y&T (7 percent) and dermatology (6 percent). The majority come from the IT&Telekom sector (8 percent), followed by Financials&Insurance (3 percent), Automotive Industry (2 percent).
The industries whose employees are mostly affected by chronic diseases are Financials&Insurance (18 percent) , IT&Telecom (14 percent), the Automotive Industry (6 percent), FMCG (4 percent).
