RCS & RDS launches mobile telephony services in Italy

RCS & RDS has launched the Digi Mobil mobile telephony services in Italy, where there are more than 1 million Romanians. The operator also launched mobile telephony services in Spain in 2008.

Clients can contract mobile telephony services by acquiring the prepaid card Digi Mobil Italy that costs EUR 5 (no VAT) and includes 300 minutes that users can use to talk within the Digi mobile networks in Romania, Italy and Spain and within the fixed telephony network Digi Tel in Romania. For phone calls to other fixed and mobile networks in Romania the tariff is 5 cents per minute.

The prepay cards can be acquired in Italy from Digi Mobil authorized distributors. Digi Mobil Italy will also be developing a distribution network made of Romanian stores.

RCS&RDS posted a turnover of nearly EUR 400 million in 2009.
