Prosecutors request 3 to 10 years jail time for former PM Adrian Nastase

The prosecutors of the National Anti-corruption Direction (DNA) are requesting from the supreme court jail time in the case of former prime-minister Adrian Nastase, his wife Dana Nastase and Irina Paul-Jianu, former head of the State Inspectorate for Constructions,  who are accused of corruption in the “Zambaccian” file.

The sentence which can be passed for the accusations in this file are between 3 and 10 years in jail.

The DNA prosecutors claim that Adrian Nastase received, through his wife Daniela Nastase, goods in value of EUR 630,000 during 2002-2004 when he was a prime-minister.

This sum represented goods imported from China as well as construction works at Nastase’s houses in Cornu locality in Bucharest.

The former prime-minister was also accused in two other files, The Quality Trophy and Aunt Tamara.
