PM: Romanian minimum wage to be increased next year

Newsroom 04/10/2010 | 11:29

The minimum wage will go up in 2011, said Prime Minister Emil Boc last Friday without mentioning the actual increase that the government plans. He explained that the draft unitary wage law is currently being drawn up.

2011 should also bring good news for public workers whose wages were cut by 25 percent this year following the government’s austerity plan. They will recover a part of their wages but “no more than the country can afford”, said the PM.
