Over 473,000 unemployed registered in Romania at end-February

The total number of unemployed people registered in the books of agencies for filling job positions at the end of February, which represents 297 more people compared to January, according to the National Agency for the Occupancy of the Labor Force.

The unemployment rate at the end of last month reached 5.27 percent, having maintained relatively stable, with only a 0.01 percent growth compared to the previous month.

The unemployment rate among men grew from 5.61 percent in January to 5.65 percent in February. The unemployment rate among women decreased from 4.87 percent to 4.83 percent.

The highest unemployment rates are in Vaslui (10.06 percent), Mehedinti (9.74 percent), Teleorman (8.87 percent), Dolj (8.80 percent), Covasna (8.50 percent), Buzau (8.22 percent), Alba (7.96 percent), Galaţi (7.85 percent), Gorj (7.78 percent) and Ialomita (7.68 percent).
