Nokia wants to sell the Jucu plant to another company

Newsroom 29/09/2011 | 15:21

Nokia is looking for potential investors who are interested in buying the Jucu plant, said the president of the group, Stephen Elop, quoted by Mediafax newswire.

During this time, the company will keep in Jucu only the employees of the sales department. The rest of the staff will be made redundant.

Elop also said that he had discussions with the Romanian government over the last 12-18 hours and informed the Romanian officials of the decision to leave Romania.

The employees were informed that they will continue to work for the company until the end of the year and they will be paid until the end of March 2012. They will also receive a compensatory package that will be communicated right after the end of consultations with the employees’ union.
