Two new ski slopes, an artificial snow installation and an illumination system were inaugurated last week in Busteni resort, according to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism.
This practically doubles the surface of the ski slopes in the resort.
Thus, the new ski slope Kalinderu 2 has a length of 1.2 kilometers and a medium-to-difficult degree. It was equipped with an artificial snow system. Moreover, a slope for sledges in total length of 250 meters was set up. As part of the same investment, the Kalinderu 1 ski slope was equipped with a nocturnal illumination system.
The expansion was done using European funds. The total value of the project was RON 3.7 million, of which nearly RON 2.5 million was covered with European funds.
The Ministry of Tourism rolled out investments of RON 500 million into developing tourism and sports infrastructure in the Romanian mountain resorts. Over the last 2 years, 12 new ski slopes were set up while other 15 were redone.
