Key move. Alina Georgescu takes helm at IDC Romania

International Data Corporation (IDC), the provider of data and consultancy services for the IT sector, has announced the appointment of Alina Georgescu as country manager for Romania.

In her new role, Georgescu will oversee the commercial strategy for the development of all business lines including market research, consultancy services and conferences.

“I am sure that Alina’s expertize in this industry will sustain the growth plans of the Romanian team and will provide answers to the local development demands,” said Jan Široký , IDC vice president.

Georgescu has worked for over 13 years in the IT sector, holding key management positions. She previously worked as sales director of Ymens. She also held management roles at IBM.

IDC has been present in Romania for over 15 years.  The consultancy firm has in the country a local team of analysts.

IDC has over 1,100 analysts globally and operates in over 110 countries.
