Japanese Calsonic Kansei will start the construction of a new plant near the Romanian city of Ploiesti, where the company already has a manufacturing unit since 2006.
This is will be greenfield investment in the electronics component plant for the automotive industry. Representatives of the company met with Alexandru Petrescu, the minister for business environment, trade and entrepreneurship, to discuss about their plans in the country.
According to company planes, the new plant should become operational in 2020 and will create up to 370 new jobs.
The current plant of Calsonic Kansei in Romania has 630 employees. The company is one of the largest car parts makers in the world that works with manufacturers such as Daimler, Mitsubishi and the alliance Renault-Nissan.
